Blessing the Advent Wreath

Blessing your Advent Wreath

Use this very short video in your home after you have made an Advent Wreath and pray for God's blessing upon it as you use it to mark the weeks of Advent this year in our isolation from each other. And if you can send a photo of your wreath to Reuben to add to our collection on the website and Facebook pages and help us keep connected to each other.
Making an Advent Wreath at home

Advent Wreath

Making our Advent Wreath at home

Use this video at home alone or with others you live with to help inspire you into making an advent wreath in your home. Just collect some greenery, find a few candles and have a go. There is no need to buy expensive looking candles or decorations. You can also use bits of christmas tree decoarting materials to add to your display - but do be careful if you are using real candles with real flames. Some people like to use LED candles to save worrying about fire risks.

LGBT rainbow Bible and Cross and hand
We are churches of all sorts of families and households. There are people who come to church alone, with friends, with partners, wives, husbands.....and their dog. The Scottish Episcopal Church welcomes people of all sexualities, discovering who we are is a life-long process for all of us. Both of the churches in this United Benefice welcome LGBT people, their friends and partners. We have worked hard at being a safe space for people to come and discover the depth of their faith, to feed on the jewels of the scriptures and feast on the sacraments. Same-sex couples can be married in both churches too. Come and join us with your household to find out more about belonging in the Scottish Episcopal Church - you are welcome!
