The Mailbox Project
This is part of the Art Intervention Festival at the Mailbox in Sept
2005.
The finished piece is below and the press statement about it follows.

Title: Money Makes the…
Medium: acryllic paints, nylon wire
and support
This work is based within the century long tradition in art of colour-music
correspondence arising out of the 16th century. Here we see an embodiment
in colour of the well known musical song ‘Money makes the world
go around’. Aptly chosen and selected for its exhibition space
at the entrance to the Mailbox centre. Throughout this practice colour
is related to the wonders of the musical experience to capture for the
eyes something of the splendour of colour captured moments. Here the
piece of art is formed from the musical score of the song selected and
the score is caught in colour as if time has stood still to enable us
to revel in the tune and colours in all their glory. The individual
musical parts are cemented in the physicality of now through these jewels
of colour hanging above our heads.
