Ash Wednesday traditionally marks the beginning of the season of Lent - which in the church year is an opportunity to do a bit of self examination, see where we need to amend things , and have a go at doing just that. Our aim is to be ready for the resurrection on Easter Day in fit spiritual shape, ready to celebrate the momentous event of Christ being alive in our lives having travelled the way of the cross with him, and caught a glimpse of the suffering he endured for us.

To all of you far and wide who are celebrating those who nurtured you for Mothering Sunday - May God Bless your celebrations.

We also remember those who find this weekend painful as they miss people, or remember difficult times - May God comfort and sustain you.

We have a Lent group after the service on a Sunday, and will be holding a film night  21 st March 7.30pm   to explore the themes in I, Daniel Blake. During Holy Week we'll be using our beautiful stations of the cross to travel the journey in Jerusalem to Golgotha.

Keep an eye on our upcoming events, but put Sunday March 18th in your diary. It's Passion Sunday, and we will be singing Evensong at 5pm with the East London Evensong Choir.

It'll be a real treat.

We are also delighted to say that the Hackney Wickers will be making their home with us from April 17th for their after school activities

Want to explore a bit more?  Then catch me as I wander around Hackney Wick, or come on a Sunday Morning.  No special anything needed. Come as you are.

Rev'd Sue Makin, Vicar.

We have halls, and exhibition/performance space for hire..clean, warm and with internet access.
